    The Department of Labor issued new regulations regarding overtime and the FLSA that are scheduled to go into effect at the end of August 2004 (8/23/04). The proposed regulations revise the tests used to determine which employees would be classified as executive, administrative and professional employees and therefore would be exempt from overtime pay rules.
